Mazu Networks Named a 2008 American Business AwardsSM Finalist for the Most Innovative Company Honor

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. - May 20, 2008 - Mazu Networks, the leading(1) provider of behavior-based, enterprise-class performance and availability solutions, today announced its finalist status for the 2008 American Business Awards in the Most Innovative Company category. Hailed as "the business world's own Oscars" (New York Post, April 27, 2005), the American Business Awards are the only national, all-encompassing awards program honoring great performances in business.

"American Business Award entries grew more than 30 percent this year, so being named a finalist is more of an accomplishment than ever before," said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of The American Business Awards. "To be named a finalist represents the esteemed approval from independent business executives who have agreed that the nominee is worthy of national recognition. We congratulate all of the finalists on their achievement and wish them well in the competition."

More than 2,600 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration in more than 40 categories, including Most Innovative Company, Best Overall Company, Best Executive, Best New Product or Service, Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program and new categories including Best Management Team and Best Corporate Environmental Responsibility Program.

"To be named a finalist as the Most Innovative Company for the third consecutive year is very exciting for us," said Paul Brady, CEO of Mazu Networks. "Mazu Networks' innovation has solidified our leadership position in both the performance management and security markets and has made us a very competitive solution in those spaces. Innovation is what drives Mazu Networks and we are honored to be recognized by the industry for something on which the company is so strongly founded."

Mazu Networks' flagship product, Mazu Profiler, provides significant value to network, security and data center operations teams by offering organizations a new way of looking at the IT infrastructure. By analyzing network traffic to provide valuable information about the interactions of and dependencies between users, applications and systems, Mazu Profiler enables IT organizations to manage, secure and optimize the availability and performance of business services. This new perspective enables IT teams to improve key initiatives including: application performance management; security and compliance; WAN management; CMDB discovery; and data center consolidation and migration.

Finalists were chosen by business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging during April 2008 and early May 2008. Members of the Awards’ Board of Distinguished Judges and Advisors and their staffs will select The American Business Award winners from among the finalists in a final judging round during the week of May 19. American Business Award winners will be announced during the annual gala on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
